America First Economy Delivers for American Workers In Latest Jobs Report
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The America First Policy Institute (AFPI) applauds today’s jobs report showing the American economy added 162,000 jobs in August, nearly triple economists’ expectations, while the unemployment rate held steady at 4.1 percent.
The continued strength of the labor market is the latest sign that President Trump’s pro-growth, pro-worker economic agenda is creating opportunity for American workers. More than one million private-sector jobs have now been created since President Trump took office.
“Today’s jobs report is another clear sign that President Trump’s America First economic agenda is delivering for American workers. Job creation shattered expectations in August. Businesses are investing in our nation, the private sector is hiring, and American workers are seeing new opportunities,” said Michael Faulkender, co-chair of American Prosperity. “As investment flows back into the United States and the private sector continues to grow, the August jobs report provides clear evidence that an America First agenda built around investment, production, and American workers delivers results.”
AFPI will continue championing policies that support the American workforce, expand opportunity for workers, and encourage continued job creation.
