Throughout the nation, two visions for law enforcement are unfolding. On one hand, liberals like Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson are creating “ICE Free Zones” in an attempt to expel federal law enforcement from doing their job. Worse than a lack of cooperation, federal agents are facing active resistance from governors and mayors. Members of Congress are showing up at ICE facilities to protest and attempt to force their way into the facilities. The federal government is asking for a permanent city perimeter around the South Portland ICE building due to violent and belligerent protestors. Still, Portland Mayor Keith Wilson decided instead to remove the temporary perimeter and replace it with nothing.
Indiana AG Files Lawsuit to Stop “Sanctuary” School District Policies that Obstruct Federal Immigration Enforcement
Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita today filed a lawsuit against Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS), alleging that the district has adopted and maintained policies that violate state law by obstructing cooperation with federal immigration enforcement. The complaint seeks an injunction to end IPS’s “sanctuary” policies, which prevent school employees from voluntarily assisting federal immigration authorities, even in cases involving potential family reunification or the safety of unaccompanied minors.

Government Shutdown Delays Americans’ Access to Gun Purchase
Washington, D.C. — Today, the America First Policy Institute (AFPI) issued the following statement from Brett Tolman, Chair of Law and Justice, about the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) delaying the processing firearm licensing applications during the government shutdown: “While Washington gridlock continues, the constitutional rights of law-abiding Americans are being sidelined. The shutdown has forced the ATF to furlough staff, halting approvals for federal firearms licenses and other legally regulated items. This is leaving Americans waiting indefinitely to exercise their Second Amendment rights because of misplaced priorities in Washington.
