T.J. Wilson

Deputy Director of Rural Policy

T.J. Wilson serves as the Deputy Director of Rural Policy at AFPI, where he helps shape policies upholding the world’s greatest food system, the most abundant and healthy natural resources of any developed nation, and the unique freedoms inherent to rural ways of life. He has served in key staff and executive roles in the USDA’s Farm Production and Conservation Mission Area, the agency’s core division serving farmers and ranchers nationwide. While serving at USDA, he helped implement the 2014 and 2018 Farm Bills and collaborated with partners and landowners to tackle the nation’s most pressing agricultural and natural resource challenges. He has also guided the delivery of multiple farm and disaster programs to enhance American agriculture’s wellbeing and the long-term health of rural communities. T.J. is a champion for rural America and for farmer-, rancher-, and landowner-first agricultural policy.

A proud Floridian, T.J. holds JD and MBA degrees from Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law and Brock School of Business, and a BS in Business Administration from the University of South Florida. He and his wife reside in Virginia, where they enjoy watching their kids’ sports and spending time outdoors with family and friends.
