Gina D’Andrea
General Counsel, Litigation
There may be people who have more talent than you, but there’s no excuse for anyone to work harder than you do.”
- Derek Jeter
Gina D’Andrea is from Merrick, New York and serves as General Counsel for Litigation at AFPI. Previously, she worked as a Staff Attorney for an immigration focused non-profit law firm in Washington, DC, where she drafted amicus curiae briefs on issues such as protecting the border, welfare for aliens, and alien voting. In addition to her amicus work she served as co-counsel in a lawsuit challenging a District of Columbia law that permits alien voting in municipal elections.
During law school Gina served as law clerk for the U.S. Senate Committee on Indian Affairs, where she worked closely with committee staff to draft legislation aimed at improving the Indian Health Service. She also clerked for another non-profit organization, where she worked on various campaign finance and election law issues. Before attending law school, Gina was a paralegal; first in support of constitutional litigation and later in support of multi-million-dollar commercial real estate transactions. While earning her master’s degree, Gina interned in the D.C. office of U.S. Senator John Hoeven of North Dakota, where she handled constituent relations and prepared summary memoranda for the Senator’s committee hearings.
Gina earned her Juris Doctor from the Columbus School of Law at the Catholic University of America, a Master of Professional Studies in paralegal studies from the George Washington University, and a Bachelor of Arts in history from Hofstra University. In her free time Gina enjoys yoga, reading, spending time at the beach, and New York Yankees baseball.
