American Values Policy Analyst
Overall Responsibility:
The America First Policy Institute (AFPI) is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented American Values Policy Analyst to support its American Values and Society policy efforts. Reporting to the Director of American Values Policy, the American Values Policy Analyst will contribute to the development of policy materials, track legislative activity, and support communications efforts focused on strengthening the foundational principles that sustain a free, prosperous, and self-governing nation. This includes issues related to family, education, religious liberty, free speech, and constitutional governance. This position is ideal for a policy professional with strong research and writing skills who is eager to advance principled, mission-driven policy work rooted in enduring American values.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct policy research and analysis on issues related to American values, including family formation and stability, education, religious liberty, free speech, civil society, and constitutional governance
- Draft memos, policy briefs, fact sheets, and longer-form publications under the guidance of the Director
- Track federal and state legislative and regulatory developments relevant to American values and social policy
- Support the drafting of op-eds, talking points, and communications materials in coordination with the Communications team
- Participate in internal and external policy briefings, forums, and meetings, representing AFPI’s mission and priorities professionally
- Provide general support to the American Values policy team, including research assistance, editing, and coordination of interns’ work

Qualifications:
- Demonstrated alignment with AFPI’s mission and a strong commitment to the preservation of American values, individual liberty, human dignity, and constitutional governance
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in public policy, political science, law, sociology, education, or a related field preferred
- 3–6 years of experience in public policy, social policy, or related fields, ideally within government, think tanks, or research institutions
- Strong analytical writing and editing ability, with the capacity to translate complex legal, cultural, or social issues into clear, well-reasoned policy recommendations
- Ability to navigate complex and evolving political and cultural environments with professionalism and sound judgment
- Experience in monitoring legislation and policy developments at the federal or state level
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
- Professionalism, discretion, and good judgment when handling sensitive policy matters
