Development Officer
Overall Responsibility:
The America First Policy Institute (AFPI) is seeking a Development Officer to support the organization’s fundraising efforts. This role is essential in overseeing a portion of AFPI’s major gift portfolio and serving as a key member of the Development team. The ideal candidate will be a strong relationship builder who is passionate about advancing AFPI’s mission and engaging with major donors.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Manage a caseload of major gift donors and prospects
- Coordinate with development staff on all fundraising activities, including stewardship, cultivation, and special projects
- Develop individualized cultivation and stewardship strategies to advance investor relationships
- Conduct regular donor outreach through calls, emails, in-person visits, and virtual meetings
- Make direct solicitations to meet annual fundraising goals for both individual and team targets
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with investors, ensuring timely follow-up and stewardship
- Champion AFPI’s servant leadership culture
- Advocate for AFPI’s principles and recommendations in public settings
- Document all investor interactions and pipeline movement using the organization’s CRM
- Provide updates and reports to senior leadership on portfolio activity, solicitation results, and emerging opportunities
