Senior Development Officer

Overall Responsibility:

The America First Policy Institute (AFPI) is seeking a Senior Development Officer to support the organization’s fundraising efforts. This role is essential in overseeing a portion of AFPI’s major gift portfolio and serving as a key member of the Development team. The ideal candidate will be a strong relationship builder who is passionate about advancing AFPI’s mission and engaging with major donors.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of six-and seven-figure donors and prospects.
  • Coordinate with the development staff on all activities related to fundraising, including stewardship, cultivation, and special projects.
  • Develop individualized cultivation and stewardship strategies to advance investor relationships.
  • Conduct regular donor outreach through calls, emails, in-person visits, and virtual meetings.
  • Make direct principal-level solicitations to meet annual fundraising goals for both individual and team targets.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with investors, ensuring timely follow-up and stewardship.
  • Clearly champion AFPI’s servant leadership culture.
  • Effectively advocate for AFPI’s principles and recommendations in public settings.
  • Document all investor interactions and movement through the pipeline using the organization’s CRM.
  • Partner with Development leadership to strategize on team plans for sustainable revenue growth, including building a robust legacy giving program.
  • Provide updates and reports to senior leadership on portfolio activity, solicitation results, and emerging opportunities.
