AFPI Applauds Bipartisan Vote to Protect New Mexico Energy
Washington, D.C. — The America First Policy Institute (AFPI) New Mexico Chapter released the following statement after state legislators voted to strike down the Clear Horizons Act — a proposal that would have imposed costly emissions mandates and driven up energy prices for New Mexico families:
"We are glad to see a clear, bipartisan rejection of The Clear Horizons Act, which was nothing more than an energy-rationing bill dressed up as a feel-good slogan,” said AFPI New Mexico Executive Director Vince Torres, “By defeating a bill that would manufacture scarcity and shift higher energy costs to working families, the Senate reaffirmed a simple principle: energy policy should strengthen reliability, safeguard state revenues, and prioritize public transparency. AFPI New Mexico will continue to fight for America First Energy policies that defend prosperity, protect public safety, and safeguard a prosperous New Mexican future."
