AFPI Applauds Executive Order & USDA Rule Expanding Regenerative Agriculture
WASHINGTON D.C. - The America First Policy Institute (AFPI) applauds President Trump's Executive Order advancing regenerative agriculture, which is bolstered by USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins' final Regenerative Feedstock Rule linking conservation practices to biofuel markets— a strong, farmer-first step toward a healthier food system.
For decades, farmers have managed tighter margins, rising input costs, and increasing pressure on their land. Regenerative practices strengthen soil health, improve profitability, and expand market access, linking food security to the health of both farmers and consumers.
“This is an America First, farmer-driven approach that facilitates opportunities in the market tied to producers’ wise use of their resources without making mandates,” said Sarah Frey, fresh fruit and vegetable grower and Senior Advisor for Rural Policy at AFPI. “By connecting regenerative practices to real market opportunities, this action helps producers improve their bottom line while strengthening the long-term health of their land.”
This action gives farmers greater control over input costs by ensuring Washington is expanding rather than limiting production options. It increases federal investment in regenerative research, reduces red tape, and strengthens public-private partnerships.
