AFPI Appoints Brett Tolman as Chair for Law & Justice
Washington D.C.—Today, the America First Policy Institute (AFPI) is pleased to announce that Brett Tolman has been appointed to serve as Chair for Law & Justice.
Tolman, a seasoned veteran of criminal justice and government reform, steps into this pivotal role after serving as the Chair for AFPI’s Weaponization of Government Initiative for over a year. In this new role, Tolman will lead the charge to restore safety and security to communities across our nation. A frequent legal analyst for Fox News and other media outlets, Tolman brings a unique talent to shape policy and spread the America First message far and wide.
As a former U.S. Attorney for the District of Utah and Chief Counsel for Crime and Terrorism to the Senate Judiciary Committee, Tolman brings a wealth of knowledge and front-line expertise to promote respect for legitimate law enforcement, reverence for our sworn officers, and smart-on-crime reforms. He has served as the Executive Director of Right on Crime at the Texas Public Policy Foundation since 2021.
“The rule of law is the backbone of a free society—but today, it is bending under the weight of politics and selective enforcement. The weaponization of our justice system and the overcriminalization of everyday Americans pose a direct threat to our liberty. Justice must be impartial, proportional, and rooted in the principle that every individual—regardless of status or ideology—is equal under the law. Restoring integrity to our criminal justice system is imperative,” said Tolman.
“We have the right to live and prosper in free and safe communities,” said AFPI Executive Vice President Chad Wolf. “Brett’s experience and insights, in addition to the work he has already done for our Weaponization of Government Initiative, make him an invaluable addition to the Law & Justice team.”
