AFPI Calls for Accountability Following Dr. Fauci’s Senate Testimony
WASHINGTON, D.C.— The America First Policy Institute (AFPI) released the following statement after Dr. Anthony Fauci repeatedly invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination during questioning before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee:
“Today’s hearing is another reminder that the American people are still being denied the answers they are owed. America First leaders in Congress asked straightforward questions about the decisions that cost the American people their jobs, last goodbyes to loved ones, stole years of learning from their children, shuttered businesses, and shattered trust in our institutions. Anything less than full transparency is an unforgivable betrayal of the American people,” said Governor Bobby Jindal, AFPI Chair of Healthy America.
Throughout the pandemic and its aftermath, AFPI has consistently championed policies that promote transparency and individual liberty, including:
- Opposing federal vaccine mandates that threaten employment, military service, religious liberty, parental rights, and educational opportunity.
- Defending Operation Warp Speed and recognizing American innovation that delivered vaccines in record time.
- Supporting investigations into the origins of COVID-19, including the funding of high-risk research, gain-of-function research, and the Wuhan lab.
- Defending free speech by challenging government involvement in COVID-19 censorship and advocating for protections against viewpoint discrimination by Big Tech.
- Advancing policies that restore parental rights, expand education freedom, and address the lasting harm caused by prolonged school closures.
- Calling for accountability from public officials and institutions responsible for decisions that reshaped the lives of millions of Americans.
- Advancing policies to prevent temporary pandemic-era emergency measures from becoming permanent government policy, including reforms to election integrity, administrative authority, border security, and federal spending.
Dr. Fauci was given an opportunity to provide the answers Americans have sought for years, and it is deeply disappointing that opportunity was not taken. The American people deserve the truth, and AFPI will continue fighting for accountability and ensure the failures of the pandemic are never repeated.
