AFPI’s Chad F. Wolf Testifies Before the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary Regarding the Rise of Political Violence
Washington, D.C.—Today, America First Policy Institute’s Executive Vice President, Chief Strategy Officer, and Chair of Homeland Security and Immigration Chad F. Wolf testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee’s hearing entitled “Politically Violent Attacks: A Threat to Our Constitutional Order.”
Drawing on his experience as the former acting Secretary of Homeland Security, Wolf warned of the alarming rise in politically motivated violence targeting law enforcement, journalists, and public officials. He recounted the 2020 riots in Portland, Oregon as a stark reminder of what happens when leaders put politics over public safety and cautioned that similar left-wing radical violence is resurging today—often fueled by dangerous rhetoric that dehumanizes law enforcement and legitimizes chaos.
Wolf called on Congress to confront this threat with seriousness it deserves, to equip law enforcement with the resources and authority they need, to dismantle financial networks that enable political violence, and to be honest with the American people about the threats they face.
“It is a core responsibility of governmental bodies to protect our sworn officers, journalists, and all Americans from any form of political violence, that is showing no signs of slowing down,” Wolf stated. “We owe it to fathers and mothers, we owe it to Erika Kirk, and we owe it to every family who has lost a loved one to political violence, to ensure that their calls for accountability and action are finally answered.”
