Amb. Sands Statement on President Trump’s Action Restoring Vehicle Choice

Washington D.C.— Ambassador Carla Sands, Vice Chair of Energy and Environment at the America First Policy Institute (AFPI), issued the following statement regarding President Trump's signature of Congressional Review Act and House Judiciary Resolutions 87, 88, and 89 into law:

“These actions mark a major win for the state of California and our entire nation. I applaud President Trump, congressional leadership, and those who supported the movement to ensure that every American can purchase a vehicle of their choosing. California bureaucrats have abused the Clean Air Act to dictate what cars the entire nation can drive and pushed a forced electrification agenda that ignores practicality, affordability, and individual preference. This action restores choice for consumers.

This also represents a recommitment to affordable, reliable energy. If electric vehicles become the most cost-effective, reliable, and versatile option through genuine innovation, consumers will choose them. Bureaucratic attempts to force this transition short-circuits the market and tramples individual liberty. This victory for the Trump Administration and congress is about ensuring a level playing field where all technologies can compete to serve the American people best."
