America 250: Preserving Our Legacy, Protecting Our Future

Greg Sindelar July 4, 2026

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today marks the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, an act that bore the greatest nation on Earth. Despite countless challenges over these years, our nation’s men and women rose up, united, and committed themselves to preserving this republic.

We are blessed with this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to appreciate the enduring promise of America and recommit ourselves to the principles the Founding Fathers gave us: that all men are created equal, and that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights.

America 250 is more than a celebration of our past, it is a call to shape our future. The freedoms we enjoy today were secured by generations of Americans who believe in liberty, self-government, and the enduring truth that our rights come from God, not government.

They met their moment, and now we must meet ours. You do not simply protect and preserve a nation—you must actively push it forward, standing on the bedrock principles that inspired our founding and explain our endurance. The decisions we make today will determine whether future generations inherit an America that is stronger, freer, more prosperous, and more secure than the one entrusted to us. It is on each of us to be stewards of America, so she can endure another 250 years and beyond.

As we celebrate two and a half centuries of American independence, let us honor the courage and sacrifice of those who came before us by renewing our commitment to the ideals that unite us and by ensuring that the best days of the American experiment are still ahead.
