He explained that these changes reflect a broader issue of declining consumer demand following the substantial pandemic-related spending. With consumer spending constituting 66% of the GDP, a reduction in spending can significantly impact economic growth.

Puzder also discussed market movements and inflation predictions by Jerome Powell, Chair of the Federal Reserve. He underscored the importance of aligning monetary policy with fiscal policy to achieve stable, low inflation rates.
