Chad Wolf discusses Texas’ fight to secure the border despite the efforts of the Biden Admin

June 20, 2024

Chad Wolf, former Acting Secretary of Homeland Security, appeared on Newsmax to discuss Texas' ongoing battle to secure its border amidst the Biden Administration's policies. The discussion highlighted the massive influx of illegal immigrants and the federal government's insufficient response.

Wolf emphasized the severity of the border crisis, noting that President Biden's acknowledgment of the border's insecurity and call for policy changes come too late. He criticized Biden for passing responsibility to Congress instead of utilizing his executive authority to enforce existing immigration laws.

Highlighting the state's proactive measures, Wolf praised Texas for stepping in where the federal government has failed. Despite efforts to enhance border security, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has opposed Texas' initiatives, demanding the removal of barriers set up by the state. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton responded defiantly, asserting that the state will continue to protect its citizens.

Wolf underscored the broken relationship between Texas and the federal government, pointing out that the federal administration's actions contradict their duty to safeguard national security. He argued that the Biden Administration possesses the necessary authority to address the crisis but chooses not to act, leading to overwhelmed systems and unsafe conditions in various communities.
