Food Security and Immigration Security are Essential for National Security
Washington, D.C. - Today, the America First Policy Institute (AFPI) issued the following statement from Adam Savit, Director of AFPI’s China Policy Initiative:
“AFPI applauds the Department of Justice for arresting a Chinese Communist Party (CCP)-tied Chinese national for allegedly smuggling a dangerous fungus and potential agroterrorism agent into the U.S. Fusarium graminearum can cause disease in wheat, barley, and rice, and cause significant health issues in humans and livestock.
Since 2023, the suspect’s boyfriend has conducted research on plant-microbe interaction at the University of Michigan, and both have been charged with visa fraud. Secretary Rubio’s pledge to aggressively revoke student visas for CCP members and researchers in critical fields is crucial to safeguard national security.”
