Liberals Threatens Direct Primary Care, Push Healthcare for Illegals
Washington, D.C.—Today, the America First Policy Institute (AFPI) issued the following statement from Hannah Anderson, Director of Healthy America and Senior Director of Policy, regarding the ongoing government shutdown:
“Liberals in Congress are holding the government hostage in order to put American patients last. Bipartisan, patient-first reforms like Direct Primary Care (DPC)—which allows Americans to use their health savings accounts for round-the-clock access to a primary care doctor for just $75 per month—are at risk in their America Last spending proposal. DPC cuts out middlemen, restores the doctor-patient relationship, improves chronic disease management, reduces emergency room visits, decreases hospitalizations, and delivers better outcomes at lower cost.
Instead of letting patients benefit from these commonsense reforms, liberals are using the shutdown as leverage to redirect federal Medicaid dollars to fund healthcare for illegal immigrants. Radicals in Congress must reopen the government and prioritize American patients over partisan spending schemes.”
