Lt. General (Ret.) Keith Kellogg joined America Reports to discuss conflicts in the Middle East.

June 20, 2024

Lt. General (Ret.) Keith Kellogg joined America Reports on Fox News to provide insights into the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, specifically addressing the recent escalation between Israel and Hezbollah.

Kellogg began by examining the map of recent attacks into Northern Israel from Lebanon, pointing out areas of anti-tank fire and rocket attacks. He expressed his initial concern that Israel might face a two-front war but believes that the current focus remains on Hamas in Gaza. He noted that Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah, likely does not want to provoke another full-scale invasion from Israel, recalling the 2006 conflict that ended in a stalemate after 32 days.

Kellogg predicts a continuation of low-level violence along the northern border but does not foresee a large-scale Israeli invasion into Lebanon. Instead, he expects Israel to continue with targeted strikes using aircraft, artillery, and special operations while concentrating efforts on Hamas in Gaza.

Addressing the broader implications, Kellogg emphasized the lack of a clear end state to the conflict, which remains a significant concern. He also criticized the Pentagon's handling of Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin's hospitalization, pointing out the failure in communication and the potential risks it poses for command and control in ongoing military operations.
