Make America Healthy Again by Reducing the cost of Health Care

Americans Cannot Afford The COST OF Health Care Today

  • Medicaid spending is spiraling out of control: the program cost state and federal taxpayers nearly $900 billion in 2024, providing coverage over 70 million people.
  • Americans that earn $21,597 or less qualify for Medicaid in most states. Medicaid-eligible Americans would have to spend nearly 30% of their annual income to pay for a typical health plan in the individual market.
  • Since 2000, health care costs for the average American family have increased 40% faster than inflation in the rest of the economy.
  • The average family of four now pays over $35,000 a year for health care expenses, accounting for over 40% of the average families annual income

President Trump is Driving Down the COst of Health care

  • President Trump signed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act into law, which makes it easier for families to contract directly with their physician, cutting out expensive—and often unnecessary—middle-men from the doctor patient relationship.
  • President Trump is also fighting to ensure Americans pay fair prices for prescription drugs. Americans currently pay 4.22 times more for brand-name drugs than other developed countries.
  • President Trump signed an executive order to strengthen hospital price transparency requirements, empowering patients to shop for the best care at the lowest price.

America First recommendations to Lower Costs and Make America HealthY Again

  • Empower states to approve new insurance plans and let families buy the best plan for their unique health care needs. Obamacare red tape increased premiums by 129% between 2013 and 2019. Allowing states to approve new options without Obamacare mandates will allow patients to obtain high-quality coverage at lower costs.
  • Give Obamacare subsidies directly to individuals, not insurance companies, and let individuals use this funding on their health care and coverage.
  • Allow small businesses, churches, and associations to form groups and provide affordable health insurance through association health plans (AHPs). AHPs could lower premiums for small businesses owners and employees by 30%.
