Mike Faulkender, AFPI Chief Economist, joined Real America’s Voice to discuss Biden’s Job Report.
Mike Faulkender, Chief Economist at the America First Policy Institute, appeared on Real America’s Voice to analyze the recent job report released by the Biden Administration. Faulkender acknowledged the administration's enthusiasm over the addition of 253,000 jobs but pointed out significant concerns beneath the surface.
Faulkender explained that the bulk of the new jobs were either part-time positions or public sector roles created by the government, rather than private sector jobs that drive sustainable economic growth. He criticized the Biden Administration for celebrating what he described as inflated numbers due to seasonal adjustments. According to Faulkender, while the headline figures appear strong, a closer look reveals a different story: a notable shift from full-time to part-time employment, reducing overall weekly earnings for workers.
Highlighting a deeper issue, Faulkender noted that the number of people holding multiple jobs has increased by 25% during Biden's tenure, suggesting that families are struggling to maintain their income levels. He argued that these factors contribute to President Biden's low approval ratings, as Americans face higher costs of living without commensurate increases in their wages.
