On June 30, the Supreme Court ended the debate over women’s sports. Harrisburg didn’t get the memo.
Upholding laws in West Virginia and Idaho, the Court ruled that states may reserve women’s and girls’ teams for biological females without violating Title IX or the Constitution. The decision strips away any legal excuse for inaction. It also throws Pennsylvania’s own unfinished business into sharp relief.
Pennsylvania stands at a crossroads on women’s sports and protections based on biological sex.
