Radicals in Congress Put Illegal Aliens Before America’s Guardsmen
Washington, D.C.—Today, the America First Policy Institute (AFPI) issued the following statement from Brett Tolman, Chair of Law and Justice, regarding the ongoing government shutdown:
“As radicals in Congress keep the government shutdown, the brave men and women of the National Guard are being unjustly denied immediate pay. These service members are safeguarding our nation's capital, Los Angeles, and Memphis—playing a pivotal role in enhancing public safety. Their presence has contributed to a significant reduction in violent crime in these dangerous cities. They deserve immediate compensation.
Instead of paying those who protect Americans, these bad actors in Congress are holding the government hostage to push for taxpayer-funded healthcare for illegal aliens. These priorities are backwards. Washington should stand with those defending our nation—not those who break our laws.
It's time to end this shutdown and respect our Guardsman who put the safety and security of the American people first.”
