Robert Wilkie joined American Agenda on Newsmax to discuss Secretary Lloyd Austin.
Robert Wilkie, former Secretary of Veterans Affairs and retired U.S. Army Colonel, joined American Agenda on Newsmax to discuss Secretary Lloyd Austin's role and the current state of national security under the Biden Administration.
Wilkie contrasted the operational protocols between the Trump and Biden administrations. He recounted his experience during the Trump era, where strict procedures ensured the President was always aware of the whereabouts of his Cabinet members. This included a comprehensive base chart tracking the locations of officials globally, ensuring constant communication and accountability.
Wilkie expressed concern over the apparent lack of such stringent measures in the current administration, particularly highlighting the absence of accountability following significant events like the Afghanistan withdrawal. He stressed that if no one was held accountable for Afghanistan, it is unlikely that there will be repercussions for other failures.
While acknowledging Secretary Austin's health issues, Wilkie emphasized the unprecedented nature of the current situation where national security authorities seem unaware of each other's locations. He warned that adversaries like China, Iran, Russia, and North Korea are undoubtedly observing these lapses, potentially perceiving them as weaknesses.
