Shutdown Madness: Radicals Demand Medicaid for Dead People, Healthcare for Illegals

Washington D.C.—Today, the America First Policy Institute (AFPI) issued the following statement from Jill Homan, Deputy Director, Trade & Economy Policy, and Campaign Director, and Hannah Anderson, Director of Healthy America and Senior Director of Policy, regarding the ongoing government shutdown:

“Americans are being financially punished while the Far Left holds the government hostage. Radicals are demanding that the government only reopen if their continuing resolution (CR) passes—including reinstating payments for patients who are unfortunately deceased and ‘free’ healthcare for illegal aliens.

This is blatant disregard for hardworking Americans who are struggling to make ends meet and keep their families afloat. These members need to read the room: 67 percent of Americans live paycheck-to-paycheck, and yet they want to allocate taxpayer dollars to the deceased and illegal aliens. Enough is enough. It is time to stop playing games and holding the American people hostage for politically motivated handouts.”
