STATEMENT: America First Observes Holocaust Remembrance Day
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the America First Policy Institute released the following statement from its President and CEO, Brooke Rollins, in recognition of International Holocaust Remembrance Day. This important day was established in memory of the victims of a singularly monstrous genocide and to encourage countries around the world never to stop educating future generations on the significance of this atrocity.
“Today, the America First movement remembers the 6 million Jews and millions more ‘undesirables’ who were slaughtered by the Nazis in the Holocaust. We must never forget how quickly hateful ideologies can infect a Nation or a people. When societies tolerate the harassment of a minority group, violence and persecution quickly follow.
The October 7, 2023, massacre in Israel was the largest organized slaughter of Jews since the Holocaust. In response, many progressive leaders in government, academia, and Hollywood equivocated or drew false equivalencies. Some even celebrated the terrorist group Hamas — a grim reminder that foundational American ideals, including the free exercise of religion and equal protection under the law, are fragile blessings. This is also why it is more important than ever to stand with the Jewish community, stand with Israel, and stand against Jew-Hatred wherever it manifests itself.”
