Stop the Green New Scam. Re-Open the Government.

Ted Ellis October 2, 2025

Washington, D.C.— Today, the America First Policy Institute (AFPI) issued the following statement from Ted Ellis, Campaign Director of Power America and Deputy Director of Energy and Environment at AFPI, about the ongoing government shutdown:

“A significant obstacle to reopening the government right now is liberals’ push for the Green New Scam—billions in taxpayer dollars going to unreliable energy projects, EV subsidies that mostly help wealthy individuals, and ideological grant programs that don’t deliver real results for Americans. Meanwhile, veterans, seniors, first responders, and families are waiting for the certainty, benefits, and services they rely on.”

“Liberals are crying foul about the administration's actions to end the Green New Scam, all while they are holding the government hostage—and the federal workers’ paychecks and services Americans depend on, along with it. They should end the hysteria and allow Washington to get back to work. Passing a clean Continuing Resolution would reopen government, fund essential services, and protect taxpayers by avoiding an unnecessary $1.5 trillion spending increase that liberals are pushing for and no American wants.”
