Clay Pryor, a New Mexico native, is a technologist with over 40 years of experience in software development, data architecture, and civic technology. Raised in Albuquerque, his early farm work instilled values of transparency and service. He graduated from Valley High School (1977), earned a B.S. in Biology with an Economics minor (1981), and an MBA in Management Information Systems (1985) from the University of New Mexico. Married to Michelle (formerly Riboni) since 1978, Clay is committed to faith, family, and freedom.

Clay’s career began with roles at the Air Force Weapons Labs, IBM, and New Mexico state agencies. At Sandia National Laboratories, he served 34 years, rising to Principal Member of Technical Staff. He led enterprise application development, civic data system design, and a feasibility study for the DOE to remove national security interests from Manzano. He also deployed a cost-efficient COTS enterprise search platform, earning executive recognition. In 2000, Clay founded nmCollector.net LLC, offering secure, offline collection management software.

His current mission leverages data and AI to address critical issues in New Mexico and the U.S. He brings technical expertise and civic purpose to AFPI’s mission of transparent, reproducible policy analysis.
