Emilio T. González serves as Senior Fellow for Homeland Security and Immigration at the America First Policy Institute.
He previously held key roles in both government and the military, including as Director for Western Hemisphere Affairs at the National Security Council and Director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, where he was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal. A retired U.S. Army colonel, González served in several high-level intelligence assignments, including as military attaché to El Salvador and Mexico, and as a faculty member at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
González holds a Ph.D. in International Studies from the University of Miami, master’s degrees from Tulane University and the U.S. Naval War College, and a bachelor’s degree in International Studies from the University of South Florida.
Bilingual and widely respected, he is a frequent commentator and lecturer on immigration, border security, defense, and U.S.–Latin America relations. He has been featured in local, national, and international media outlets, including Fox Noticias, Telemundo, and Univisión.
