Jeff Schlagenhauf

Jeff Schlagenhauf serves as Director af Economy and Trade Policy at AFPI, and hails from Western New York. Bringing more than 30 years of experience in the political and public policy arenas, he has served for over two decades in the United States Congress. He served as an Economic Policy Advisor to President Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and later as Associate Director for Economic Policy at the White House Office of Management and Budget during the Trump Administration.

Jeff served as a Deputy Secretary-General of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) from May 2019 through June 2022. At the OECD, he was responsible for overseeing public governance, development, statistics, and anti-corruption efforts. Additionally, he oversaw the development and launch of the OECD’s new partnership with Africa. A committed advocate of the America First policy agenda, he is recognized as a skilled strategist with a strong track record of navigating complex economic and regulatory issues and driving results.

Jeff has a people-first management style and is deeply committed to team development, taking pride in mentoring colleagues and supporting their professional growth.

Jeff graduated from the College of William & Mary, where he was later appointed to serve on the college’s Board of Visitors by Virginia’s Governor. Jeff is an avid Buffalo Bills football fan. He and his wife Debbie, reside in Clifton, Virginia, with their three Cavalier King Charles puppies.
