AFPI Addresses the Save America Act as Senate Prepares to Resume Consideration
Washington, D.C.—The Honorable Kenneth Blackwell, Chair of Secure Elections at the America First Policy Institute (AFPI), released the following statement as the U.S. Senate prepares to resume discussion related to election integrity after its two-week recess:
“As the Senate returns to session, election integrity policies remain central to ongoing discussions about election integrity. The Save America Act includes provisions that would require proof of U.S. citizenship to register to vote, establish voter identification standards, and improve the accuracy of voter rolls.
These types of measures reflect practices already common in many aspects of daily life, where identity verification is required, and align with policies used in election systems around the world. Strengthening verification and maintaining accurate voter lists reinforces confidence that elections are decided by eligible voters.
At AFPI, we continue to highlight policies that support secure, transparent, and trustworthy elections, and that help ensure every lawful vote is counted.”
