AFPI Announces Jondavid “JD” Longo as Chair of Pennsylvania State Chapter
Washington D.C.— The America First Policy Institute (AFPI) is proud to announce the appointment of Jondavid "JD" Longo as Chair of its Pennsylvania State Chapter (AFPI-PA). This appointment reflects AFPI’s continued commitment to strengthening its grassroots policy presence in key states and delivering America First solutions tailored to Pennsylvania’s unique challenges and opportunities.
JD Longo, Mayor of Slippery Rock in Butler County, brings a distinguished record of leadership and service to the role. A combat veteran, Longo served in the United States Marine Corps as an Infantry Rifleman where he endured deployments to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Latvia for Operation Saber Strike.
As a member of AFPI’s America First Mayors’ Council and Executive Director of New Castle’s Citywide Development Corporation, he drives economic and policy initiatives throughout the region. Longo also served as a 2024 surrogate for President Donald J. Trump and as a Pennsylvania Electoral College member, casting one of President Trump’s 19 electoral votes in the Commonwealth.
“JD Longo is a true servant leader whose life reflects the best of the American spirit," said Greg Sindelar, AFPI’s interim President and CEO. "His courage on the battlefield and commitment to his community make him uniquely qualified to advance the America First agenda in his home state. We are honored to have him leading the charge for real, lasting change in Pennsylvania.”
As chair, Longo will lead AFPI-PA’s efforts to address critical state issues, including the economy, expanding school choice, defending the energy sector, and protecting election integrity. He will work closely with state leaders, lawmakers, and local stakeholders to design and promote public policy that puts Pennsylvania families first.
“Pennsylvania is a cornerstone of American history and innovation, and I am honored to lead AFPI’s efforts to restore prosperity,” said Longo. “From defending our energy industry to empowering parents in education, AFPI-PA will champion solutions that uphold the values of liberty and free enterprise. Together, we will ensure the Keystone State remains a beacon of the America First agenda.”
“Mayor Longo embodies what the America First movement is all about: service, sacrifice, and the courage to challenge the status quo. As a Marine, a mayor, and a man of deep conviction, he’s inspiring the next generation of Pennsylvanians to put God, family, and country first,” said Ashley Hayek, AFPI Executive Vice President. “He is proof that when you lead with purpose and place service over self, you can have a generational impact. AFPI is proud to stand with him as we take this fight to every corner of the Keystone State.”
