National Child Protection Faith Summit Convenes Faith and Policy Leaders
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Faith leaders, lawmakers, and policy experts gathered on May 21, 2026, for the National Child Protection Faith Summit, a day dedicated to promoting policies that protect children and strengthen families.
The event was led by Jack Brewer, AFPI Chair for Opportunity Now & Vice Chair for 1776, and his foundation, The Jack Brewer Foundation, along with NWF Health Network.
“We can’t talk about saving kids without rebuilding families. Faith, responsibility, and community must lead the comeback,” said Brewer. “Real change starts when fathers, mothers, and neighbors show up and demand better for the next generation.”
AFPI policy experts contributed to discussions on foster care and adoption, human trafficking prevention, and family stability, emphasizing the essential role of faith-based leadership in addressing these challenges. Participants included:
- Dr. Alveda King, Chair for the American Dream
- Dr. Daniel Trippie, Director for Faith Engagement
- Dr. Jennifer Bauwens, Director for American Values
- Greg Glod, Director of American Justice
- Dr. Brandon Logan, Senior Fellow for the American Child
“Protecting our children is a sacred entrustment from God,” said Dr. Alveda King. “When faith communities step forward to love and support families, we restore hope and honor the dignity of every child.”
AFPI is proud to support efforts to highlight the critical role of faith-driven engagement in addressing the challenges facing America’s children and families. AFPI remains committed to advancing policies that protect children, strengthen families, and ensure Americans have the support and safeguards needed to thrive.
