AFPI: Congress Is Robbing Americans of the Secure Elections They Deserve
Washington, DC — The America First Policy Institute (AFPI) released the following statement:
“Thirty days ago, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the current version of the SAVE America Act, which ensures only American citizens are registered to vote and requires voter identification in all elections. These policies have bipartisan support from the vast majority of Americans. And yet, the U.S. Senate has failed to move this issue forward. Ignoring an 80/20 issue degrades trust in our public officials, reinforces skepticism, and explains declining confidence in Congress.
Election security shouldn’t be a partisan lightning rod—for the public, it isn’t. It is the foundation of a functioning, healthy democracy and one of the most fundamental responsibilities of government. The America First agenda is predicated on the fact that in our elections, it should be easy to vote and hard to cheat. The American people deserve nothing less."
