AFPI mourns the death of Edwin J. Feulner
With heavy hearts, the AFPI family learned of the passing of the founder of The Heritage Foundation, Edwin J. Feulner, whom Almighty God has seen fit to call home.
It is impossible to measure the impact Dr. Feulner had on not only the political landscape of Washington, DC, but on the entire nation. He founded The Heritage Foundation and went on to serve as its longest serving president, seeing it through incredible political change and capitalizing on countless opportunities to drive conservatism forward.
"Dr. Ed Feulner challenged the orthodoxy in the early '70s, when the Republican consensus was to go along to get along," said Martin Gillespie, AFPI Executive Vice President and former team member of The Heritage Foundation. "His visionary policy work was the predicate to the Reagan Revolution and the various citizen movements since that have challenged the establishment. America is undoubtedly stronger because of his indispensable contributions."
Dr. Feulner was a devout Catholic, and so it is fitting that we call on all people to keep him, his family, and his friends in our prayers during this time of sadness and grief. We entrust him to the arms of our loving God.
