AFPI Reflects on America’s Enduring Bond with the State of Israel and Condemns Rise of Global Anti-Semitism
Washington, D.C.— The America First Policy Institute (AFPI) remembers the victims of the October 7 massacre of over one thousand Israelis two years ago. The Honorable Robert Wilkie, chair for American Security at AFPI, released the following statement condemning the rise of global anti-Semitism:
“Two years ago, the Jewish people rose in response to the bloodiest day since the Holocaust. Sadly, when the West should have rallied in defense of the innocent—thousands of men, women, and children brutally murdered—anti-Semitism, reemerged in places once thought unimaginable. The attacks of October 7, 2023, and the ensuing surge of anti-Jewish violence across the Western world are not only assaults on the Jewish people; they are assaults on the moral fabric of civilization itself.”
“America’s story and Israel’s story are deeply intertwined. Upon recognizing the new State of Israel in 1948, President Harry S. Truman reminded us that our nation’s founding principles are rooted in the moral teachings of the Hebrew Bible, declaring: The fundamental basis of this Nation’s law was given to Moses on the Mount. The fundamental basis of our Bill of Rights comes from the teachings what we get from Exodus, from Isaiah and Saint Paul.”
“The story of Israel is the story of freedom’s survival against all odds. The Jewish people have taught the world that faith, courage, and perseverance can overcome even the darkest chapters of history. America’s commitment to Israel is not just strategic – it is moral. When we defend Israel, we defend the very ideals upon which our own Republic was built.”
“At a time when anti-Semitism is once again testing the conscience of the West, the United States must lead with moral clarity. We must stand with Israel not only as a matter of alliance but as an affirmation of who we are as a nation: a people committed to liberty, justice, and the defense of human dignity.”
