AFPI Releases Exclusive Interview with Enes Freedom
WASHINGTON, D.C.— Today, the America First Policy Institute (AFPI) released an exclusive interview with Enes Freedom and Coach Bruce Pearl following his formal announcement to enter the 2027 WNBA Draft.
Enes’s decision poses a question the WNBA has yet to clearly answer: Who exactly is eligible to play in the league?
In this exclusive conversation, Enes Freedom explains the intent behind his decision and why he believes athletes, fans, and the public deserve clarity on the rules governing competition.
“For years, the professional women’s basketball league refused to answer the most basic question: What is a woman?” said Ashley Hayek, Executive Vice President of AFPI. “That ambiguity was ‘easy’ to defend in theory. Now it has a name and more than a decade of NBA experience.”
Enes Freedom is asking the WNBA to apply its own standards consistently. If the rules are the rules, they don’t change when they become inconvenient.”
