AFPI Responds to Court’s VA Redistricting Decision

WASHINGTON, D.C.— The America First Policy Institute (AFPI) released the following statement from Leigh Ann O’Neill, Chief Legal Affairs Officer at AFPI, following the Supreme Court of Virginia’s decision to reject the redistricting referendum:

“Virginia’s ballot initiative misled the public with intentionally confusing language and undermined the democratic process. Today’s decision makes clear that the process used to advance it was unconstitutional.”

“AFPI remains focused on transparency and accountability in election administration, ensuring that it’s easy to vote but hard to cheat. We will continue our investigation into how the election was conducted and whether schools were used for political purposes. We are committed to ensuring that future efforts don’t violate the Virginia Constitution.”
