Governor Jindal and Sarah Frey Applaud Release of the Make Our Children Healthy Again Assessment
Washington, D.C. - Today, the America First Policy Institute (AFPI) issued the following statement from Governor Bobby
Jindal, Chair of AFPI’s Healthy America initiative and Sarah Frey, AFPI Senior Advisor for Rural Policy:
“Today’s release of the President’s Make America Healthy Again Commission’s Initial Assessment marks
a watershed moment, putting a national spotlight on a long-overdue conversation about America’s
chronic disease epidemic and the possible contributing factors. We commend the Commission for
their diligent work and for driving the discussion forward.
We and our colleagues at AFPI look forward to digging into the findings of the Commission and
evaluating the potential policy implications. AFPI will be at the forefront of the next steps in this
important work, and will push to ensure that sound, science-based policies - that put the health and
livelihoods of American citizens, farmers, and rural communities first - are championed in the
Commission’s subsequent strategy.
We applaud President Trump, Secretary Kennedy, and the administration’s bold work to end chronic disease and
ensure a healthy, transparent, abundant, and affordable food supply.”
