President Trump Delivers American Renewal for Hispanic Families
Washington, D.C.—The America First Policy Institute (AFPI) issued the following statement from Alfonso Aguilar, Director of Hispanic Engagement, in response to President Trump’s State of the Union Address and what the past year of America First policies mean for Hispanic Americans:
“Until recently, it has been impossible for many Hispanic families to achieve the American Dream. We experienced the negative effects of excessive government spending, rising prices, and historic inflation. But in just one year, President Donald J. Trump has turned things around and made that dream feel possible again. Thanks to America First economic policies, things are looking up; wages are rising and prices are coming down.
The Trump administration is also making Hispanic families feel safer in our neighborhoods. After rising crime rates threatened the safety of our communities, this administration stepped up and boosted federal law enforcement, prioritizing the removal of criminal illegal immigrants and getting fentanyl off our streets.
Many Hispanic families support the successful effort to close the southern border. They understand that this step is important not only for national security, but also for protecting vulnerable people from serious crimes like sexual assault, rape and child trafficking. In the past, open borders allowed these crimes to become commonplace. Under President Trump’s leadership, these criminal networks are being disrupted, making communities safer.
America has entered a new era and it’s only the beginning.”
