Alfonso Aguilar is Director of Hispanic Engagement at the America First Policy Institute and is widely recognized as a leading Hispanic conservative activist and thought leader in the United States. With three decades of experience in government and politics, Mr. Aguilar has participated actively in major policy debates in Washington, championing issues such as the right to life, religious freedom, border security and immigration, as well as U.S. foreign policy and aid to Latin America and the Caribbean. Notably, Mr. Aguilar was the first Chief of the U.S. Office of Citizenship under President George W. Bush. His distinguished public service includes high-level roles in both the Bush Administration and the government of Puerto Rico, such as Deputy Director of Public Affairs at the U.S. Department of Energy, Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Federal Affairs Administration, and Press Secretary to former Puerto Rico Governor Pedro Rosselló. Beyond his government service, Mr. Aguilar has been a driving force in advancing conservative principles within the Hispanic community, spearheading Hispanic engagement initiatives at the American Principles Project and serving as president of the Latino Partnership for Conservative Principles. He is also a respected political analyst, frequently appearing in both national mainstream and Spanish-language media. Mr. Aguilar holds a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame and a J.D. from the University of Puerto Rico.
