Progressive Lawfare Is Hurting American Grocery Budgets
WASHINGTON, D.C.—The America First Policy Institute (AFPI) has issued the following statement from Leigh Ann O’Neill, Chief Legal Affairs Officer, in response to further progressive environmental lawfare, this time brought by the Center for Biological Diversity, and aimed at restricting the Administration’s new federal lands grazing directive.
“The latest news of yet another misguided leftist lawsuit aimed at restricting rancher access to national forests and grasslands not only ignores the law but also hits American wallets. At a time when America is grappling with a beef shortage, the Trump Administration is trying to give ranchers access to millions of acres of underused federal grazing land in line with the multiple-use mandate for those lands. Now radical left-wing activist groups are racing to federal court to try to stop it.”
“Protecting wildlife and protecting ranchers are not mutually exclusive. But weaponizing environmental laws to shut down responsible grazing has consequences: fewer cattle, less certainty for family ranchers, and ultimately greater pressure on American food prices.”
