Securing the Border, Restoring the Law: A Conversation with Rep. Jim Jordan
BORDER SECURITY, DEPORTATIONS, AND NATIONAL SOVEREIGNTY TAKE CENTER STAGE
The America First Policy Institute welcomed Chairman Jim Jordan, a stalwart of constitutional oversight and Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, for a powerhouse roundtable with AFPI’s Chad Wolf, Executive Vice President and Chair of the Center for Homeland Security & Immigration. With America under siege from decades of open-border policies and lawless sanctuary jurisdictions, the discussion tackled the urgent reforms needed to restore the rule of law, secure the border, and protect the American people.
KEY SPEAKERS & HIGHLIGHTS
CHAIRMAN JIM JORDAN, HOUSE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE
Known for his fierce commitment to constitutional integrity and holding government accountable, Jordan emphasized President Trump’s decisive leadership:
“The border is President Trump. He said he would secure it, and he did. What we needed wasn’t new legislation—just a new president.”
Jordan condemned the Biden-era collapse in enforcement, citing over 10 million illegal crossings and a reckless reversal of Trump’s policies on Day One:
“No more ‘Remain in Mexico.’ No more wall. No more detention. It was an open invitation.”
THE DEPORTATION BLUEPRINT: 10,000 – 100,000 – 1 MILLION
Rep. Jordan outlined the Judiciary Committee’s reconciliation strategy to fund the largest deportation effort in U.S. history:
-
10,000 new ICE agents
-
100,000 detention beds – the highest ever funded
-
1 million deportations financed and prioritized
“Why should the American taxpayer foot the bill? If you’re coming here on a visa, you should help pay to protect the border.”
He celebrated achieving budget neutrality through visa fee reforms, noting, “It’s fair. It’s smart. And it treats taxpayers with respect.”
ENDING SANCTUARY NONSENSE
Jordan slammed sanctuary jurisdictions for refusing to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement:
“It’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen. Two agents could make an arrest in jail. Instead, they release them, and now we need six agents in the street, putting everyone at risk.”
He warned of growing legal chaos when cities defy federal detainer requests and when judges issue nationwide injunctions to block Trump policies.
JUDGES, INJUNCTIONS & THE BATTLE FOR CONSTITUTIONAL ORDER
The roundtable exposed activist judges as one of the biggest threats to Trump’s second-term agenda:
“Some judges think they’re the president. We passed legislation to limit these nationwide injunctions. If a judge issues one, it should only apply in their jurisdiction.”
Jordan pledged continued oversight and accountability over rogue courts and excessive judicial power.
VISAS, STUDENTS & NATIONAL SECURITY
Chad Wolf and Jim Jordan turned their attention to visa reform, student visa abuse, and unvetted foreign nationals:
-
Half of Columbia University’s students are reportedly on foreign visas.
-
The Biden administration refused to answer how many campus agitators were here on visas.
-
Under Trump: violators are being removed.
“A student visa is not a right—it’s a benefit,” said Wolf.
“If you're breaking the law or threatening public safety, you can be removed. Period.”
IRAN, ISRAEL & PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH
In closing, Jordan praised President Trump’s courage in confronting Iran’s nuclear ambitions:
“God bless President Trump. There’s a special relationship between the U.S. and Israel—and he’s defended it with strength.”
He confirmed over 1,500 Iranians entered the U.S. under Biden, with 700+ released, raising national security alarms.
THE VERDICT: BOLD LEADERSHIP IS BACK
From border enforcement to the judiciary to America’s position abroad, this roundtable made clear: the rule of law is being restored.
“President Trump has the credibility. First, secure the border—then, fix the system. That’s how we win,” said Jordan.
