AFPI Praises Texas Governor Greg Abbott for Prioritizing Education Opportunity in Next Week’s Special Session

WASHINGTON, D.C — Today, the America First Policy Institute (AFPI) released the following statement from Brooke Rollins, President and CEO of AFPI, commending Governor Greg Abbott’s order for a state special session to begin Monday, October 9, after emphasizing the need to focus on the issue of educational freedom: 

“As a mother of four, I know that it’s parents who know what’s best for their child. By providing educational freedom in Texas, families can take control of their future and secure access to high-quality education.

After facing tough opposition from well-funded and coordinated teachers’ unions, Governor Greg Abbott has boldly restored Texas’ chance to prioritize educational freedom for all. Every child, regardless of zip code or background, should have access to a quality education, and it’s time Texas students receive this opportunity.”
