USDA Reorganization is the Right Move for Our States
Today, the America First Policy Institute (AFPI) issued the following statement from Stephanie Whitt, Chief State Action and Engagement Officer:
“The United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) recently announced reorganization and relocation plan is a win for the states and rural America. By moving USDA decisionmakers closer to the farmers, ranchers, and communities they serve while maintaining critical functions of the department, federal resources will be better aligned with state and local priorities”.
The USDA plan to relocate much of the department’s headquarters and National Capital Region staff to USDA hubs in Raleigh, Kansas City, Indianapolis, Fort Collins, and Salt Lake City is consistent with Pillar X of AFPI’s America First Agenda, Fight Government Corruption by Draining the Swamp. This reorganization will result in greater taxpayer savings, superior localized decision making, strengthened government accountability, and sustained growth for regional economies— all while continuing critical functions that support U.S. farmers and ranchers.
