Peter J. Brown

Peter J. Brown is Senior Fellow for Western Hemisphere Security and Maritime Affairs at the America First Policy Institute, where he advances United States leadership in a region far too long overlooked by the foreign policy establishment. Prior to joining AFPI, he was an officer in the United States Coast Guard, countering transnational organized crime and coordinating interagency and international operations in the Caribbean and Central America. Rising to the rank of Rear Admiral, he guided Coast Guard operational and law enforcement policy and ultimately commanded Coast Guard operations and personnel throughout the southeast U.S. and the Caribbean. He also served as President Trump’s Homeland Security & Counterterrorism Advisor and Special Representative for Puerto Rico Disaster Recovery.
