AFPI Applauds Department of Labor’s Efforts to Bolster Apprenticeships
WASHINGTON, D.C.—The America First Policy Institute (AFPI) has released the following joint statement from the Education Freedom and American Dream campaigns in response to new guidance issued by the Department of Labor (DOL) concerning the Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP):
“For far too long, American prosperity and economic opportunity have been hamstrung by the ‘college-for-all’ paradigm. This outdated approach has saddled millions of young Americans with massive debts and limited job prospects—all while leaving critical, high-paying job opportunities for skilled workers unfilled. For many young Americans, apprenticeships offer an established path to lucrative, family-sustaining career opportunities. We appreciate DOL’s bold efforts to reduce regulatory burdens on apprenticeship sponsors and increase flexibility in program design. These actions will strengthen both America’s economy and economic mobility for American workers.”
AFPI looks forward to continued improvements to RAPs that will help achieve President Trump’s goal of 1 million active apprentices.
