AFPI Releases Statement on Ranked Choice Voting

WASHINGTON, D.C.— The America First Policy Institute (AFPI) today released the following statement from J. Kenneth Blackwell, chair for Election Integrity in response to the proposed Ranked Choice Voting Act:

“One voter, one vote, one time. It's that simple. Ranked Choice Voting would violate that most basic and fundamental requirement, the very foundation of our civic process. We have seen the chaos and confusion caused by ranked choice voting; it is disturbing to think that there would be any sort of push for this disastrous system at the federal level. It is impossible to overstate the devastating impacts that embracing ranked choice voting at the national level would cause. Americans deserve so much better than to be subjugated to the monstrosity of an election system that is ranked choice voting."

If ranked choice voting were enacted, voter confidence would plummet, costs of elections would skyrocket, American voters would be systematically disenfranchised, and the very right to have one's voice counted in our representative government would be at risk.
