AFPI Celebrates Supreme Court Victory for Equal Protection in Redistricting
WASHINGTON, D.C. — America First Policy Institute (AFPI) chair for Election Integrity, Kenneth J. Blackwell, issued the following statement in response to the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Louisiana v. Callais:
"Advocates of the redistricting effort said the map would protect minority voting rights. In reality, it would have transformed the Voting Rights Act into a tool for partisan gerrymandering, forcing states to engineer partisan districts under the guise of racial equity."
The Court ended years of racist practices and reinforced a foundational principle: every American must be treated equally under the law, and the government cannot divide citizens based on race.
