America First Warfighters Statement on the 5th Anniversary of the Abbey Gate Bombing

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, America First Warfighters marks the 5th anniversary of the attack at the Kabul airport’s Abbey Gate, remembering and honoring the 13 U.S. service members who lost their lives during the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan.

“We owe it to the 13 members of the United States military who made the ultimate sacrifice at Abbey Gate, and to every service member who serves today, to never again treat our warfighters as an afterthought. Honoring their sacrifice means equipping our men and women in uniform to succeed, not leaving them to manage the consequences of decisions made without them in mind,” said Lt. General (Ret.) Keith Kellogg, co-chair of American Security. “That is the standard we now hold our government to, and it is the standard our troops deserve.”
